Just last night on Junior Masterchef Australia one of the gorgeous kids, Aya, cooked this incredible pasta dish of black sesame tagliatelle with puttanesca sauce.
We liked the look of it that much we cooked it for dinner tonight!
We really love puttanesca and usually use an Anna Gare recipe. If you don't know puttanesca is a simple bold sauce usually consisting of anchovies, capers, olives, tomatoes. garlic and parsley.
But what made this recipe interesting was the addition of toasted black sesame seeds to the pasta dough. I also used half spelt flour and half plain flour.
The sesame seeds actually tasted delicious and complimented the sauce really well.
I think my pasta was too thin, looking at the photo of the original, but I was silly enough to follow the recipe rather then using my instinct.
It was delicious, I loved the black sesame seed pasta.
I will try it again but making my pasta thicker and then the sauce will be more saucy!
Wow, the toasted sesame seeds makes it look amazing, and I bet the texture is great too!
